What is Platzgen? Tradition and precision combined

In Platzgen, participants compete against each other in target throwing. The sports equipment - the so-called "Platzge" - is a star-shaped tool made of hardened steel that resembles a maple leaf. The aim: the Platzge must be thrown from a distance into a round clay circle with momentum and feeling.

In the middle of the clay bed is the "Schwirren" (an iron stick).

 

  • Hit the bull's eye: If you hit the buzzer directly, you secure the maximum score of 100 points.

  • Score hunt: Every centimeter away from the buzz means a point deduction.
